There’s nothing better than a bit of 'zing' in food. Our ‘Preserved Lemon’ does just that. It also contributes to the finishing flavour of a dish. It helps with that punch of tang many tagines and casseroles need, and adds the much needed saltiness. Many of us ( not to our knowledge ) use very little salt in our cooking.
But never fear, we are here to fill your mind with new fresh ideas on how to use 'preserved lemon'.
Lets start with the ever so yummy baked potato. Once your potato is baked to perfection, mix together some greek yogurt, blitzed preserved lemon and a sprinkle of zataar, ( which we do sell) and dollop that on your split open potato. This is like magic in your mouth!
Now for a slightly healthier option.
'Preserved lemon' is perfect in summer salads. Thinly sliced in those fresh raw veggie salads or chopped up chunky in a chickpea and olive salad. Its also great blitzed up into a pesto and served with fish.
So there you go, now that we've given you a few ideas on what to do with it, you don't have to be quite so scared to use it.
